Inside Oracle APEX by Patrick Wolf

Oracle APEX 3.1 Eval Instance refreshed!

If you have already registered for the Oracle APEX 3.1 beta program you should already have received a mail that informed you that the evaluation instance has been updated with a new version from development.

Beside a lot of fixes to the new Interactive Report Regions, some of the icons in the Builder got a face lifting as Dimitri had already noticed.

BTW, I just noticed a nice little new feature in the Interactive Report Regions. It's now possible to collapse the criteria header which make up the report to just show icons without a text.

Though it would be nice if it would save that state, because when you switch between several saved reports it always gets expanded again... :-(

If you haven't joined the beta program yet, it's getting time! Sign up and help to make this release as stable as possible!

  • Hi Patrick,

The expand/collapse of the report settings area should already be saved as a preference. The only exception is if you're unauthenticated, and we're working to fix that.

  • Hi Marco,

you are right, I was unauthenticated. Thanks for letting me know.

BTW, is the first icon (For the saved report definition) not redundant? Because based on the tab tile we see anyway that's a saved report. Does it have any additional informational gain if we see it?

  • Hi Patrick,

Good point -- we still have a few cleanup tasks on the report settings area.

Actually, it's not completely redundant since the only way to delete a saved report is clicking the "Delete Report" icon there.

  • In the expanded state it makes absolutely sense, especially because of the delete function. I thought more about the collapse state.
